| I am going away for a year, but will return home briefly in the middle of my trip. Is the cover continuous? | | Have I forgotten anything? | | Always get a police report if you lose anything. If you have any pre-existing medical condition, let us know and we can advise you what to do. In most cases, the insurers will give full cover at normal rates and then there will be no danger that your claim is refused because you failed to let us know. Treat yourself and your belongings as if they were uninsured. Negligent treatment of possessions or alcohol and drug abuse, for example, will jeopardize your claim. If you need to curtail your trip, say, due to your illness or to a family medical emergency back home, get clearance FIRST from the 24 hour phoneline. Do not incur additional expenses without their prior agreement. Curtailment cover will reimburse additional costs incurred getting home, but NOT for returning abroad to resume the trip where you left off! If you need to extend your duration of cover, DON'T leave a gap, it is easy to forget to renew, so make a diary note or something! Always read Foreign Office advice before you leave, on the countries you are visiting. It sometimes seems like obvious commonsense advice, but there can be invaluable tips on which parts of town are the most dangerous etc. Make sure you read the insurance wording carefully, when you get it. As with all contracts, there are important terms, exclusions and conditions that you should familiarize yourself with. We will be pleased to help with any questions you may have.

| Q - I'm over 35 - am I uninsurable? | | A - No, but the premiums on our Gold and Diamond long stay policies will be increased by 25% for anyone aged 36-50 years, or 36-45 years on Budget policies. We regret that we do not offer long stay cover to passengers over 50 years old on Gold and Diamond or 45 years on Budget policies. The age restrictions are different on short stay and annual multi-trip policies. See relevant tables for applicable rates. Our Silver policies have age limits up to 80 years for Short Stay and 64 years for Long Stay and Annual cover. | | Q - Do Navigator Travel policies cover me for working abroad? | | A - Yes - but not for heavy manual labour or using heavy machinery. Fruit & vegetable picking, office, barwork etc are all covered. |
| Q - Am I covered for hazardous pursuits? | | Please read the following in detail very carefully. A - Yes, on our Gold and Diamond policies, most hazardous pursuits such as tandem skydiving, bungee jumping, scuba diving, white water rafting, horseriding, surfing, windsurfing, trekking etc are covered on an incidental basis, i.e. if it is not the main purpose of your holiday. The Budget policies cover some of these activities as well, but the more extreme activities such as tandem skydiving are only covered on Gold/Diamond policies. Participation in each activity is limited to 6 days or 10% of total trip duration, whichever is the greater. You must inform us if you exceed these limits as additional conditions may apply, or in some cases there may be an additional premium. *Wintersports are only covered on payment of the applicable extra month rate for your long stay policy for each month that you are skiing, or double premium for short stay Gold/Diamond policies or treble premium on short stay Budget policies. This additional premium can be added at a later date if you are unsure which months you will require cover for. **Diamond policies of 6 months duration or over automatically include 15 days Wintersports cover. The following activities are all covered on an incidental basis, subject to certain conditions. Additional premiums are payable for wintersports and certain other of these activities. A list of more extreme activities follows this table, which it may be possible to cover, with additional premiums and conditions. | | ACTIVITY | BUDGET | SILVER | GOLD | DIAMOND | Abseiling | Y | - | Y | Y | American Football | - | - | Y | Y | Archery | Y | Y | Y | Y | Athletics/Running (Marathon) | Y | - | Y | Y | Australian Rules Football | - | - | Y | Y | Badminton | Y | Y | Y | Y | Baseball | Y | Y | Y | Y | Biathlon/Triathlon/Modern Pentathlon | - | - | Y | Y | Black Water Rafting | - | - | Y | Y | Bobsleigh | - | - | Y | Y | Boxing | - | - | Y | Y | Bungee Jumping | Y | Y | Y | Y | Canoeing (River - not Whitewater) | Y | Y | Y | Y | Canyoning | Y | - | Y | Y | Caving | - | - | Y | Y | Clay Pigeon Shooting | Y | Y | Y | Y | Cricket | Y | Y | Y | Y | Cross Country Running | Y | - | Y | Y | *Cross Country Skiing (EXTRA COST) | - | - | Y * | Y ** | Curling | Y | - | Y | Y | Cycle Racing | - | - | Y | Y | Cycling | Y | Y | Y | Y | Deep Sea Fishing/Angling | Y | - | Y | Y | Diving (High Diving) | - | - | Y | Y | Dog Sledding | Y | - | Y | Y | Expeditions | - | - | Y | Y | Fell Running | Y | - | Y | Y | Fencing | Y | Y | Y | Y | Flying Light Aircraft (License holder) | - | - | Y | Y | Football/Soccer/Gaelic Football | Y | Y | Y | Y | Gliding | - | - | Y | Y | Go-Karting | Y | - | Y | Y | Golf | Y | Y | Y | Y | Gymnastics | Y | - | Y | Y | Hang Gliding | - | - | Y | Y | *Heli-Skiing (EXTRA COST) | - | - | Y * | Y ** | Hiking/Trekking below 5000 metres | Y | Y | Y | Y | Hockey | Y | Y | Y | Y | Horse/Animal Riding/Equestrian events | Y | Y | Y | Y | Hot Air Ballooning | Y | - | Y | Y | Hunting | - | - | Y | Y | Hurling/Shinty | - | - | Y | Y | Ice Skating (excluding Speed Skating) | Y | - | Y | Y | Jet Boating | Y | Y | Y | Y | Jet Skiing | - | Y | Y | Y | Lacrosse | - | - | Y | Y | *Langlauf (EXTRA COST) | - | - | Y * | Y ** | Martial Arts | - | - | Y | Y | Micro-lighting | - | - | Y | Y | Motorcycling | - | - | Y | Y | Mountain Biking | - | - | Y | Y | Netball | Y | Y | Y | Y | Orienteering | Y | Y | Y | Y | Outward Bound Pursuits | Y | Y | Y | Y | Parachute Jumping/Skydiving (static line) /Tandem | - | - | Y | Y | Paragliding | - | - | Y | Y | Parascending | Y | Y | Y | Y | Pelota | - | - | Y | Y | Polo | - | - | Y | Y | Pony Trekking | Y | Y | Y | Y | Rallying (not Special Stage events) | - | - | Y | Y | Roller Blading | Y | Y | Y | Y | Roller Hockey | Y | - | Y | Y | Roller Skating | Y | Y | Y | Y | Rounders | Y | Y | Y | Y | Rowing | Y | Y | Y | Y | Rugby | Y | - | Y | Y | Safari | Y | - | Y | Y | Scuba Diving (up to 30 metres) | Y | Y | Y | Y | Sea Kayaking | - | - | Y | Y | Shooting | Y | - | Y | Y | Skate Boarding | Y | Y | Y | Y | *Ski touring (EXTRA COST) | - | - | Y * | Y ** | *Skiing - snow/off piste (EXTRA COST) | Y | - | Y * | Y ** | Snorkelling | Y | Y | Y | Y | *Snowboarding (EXTRA COST) | Y | - | Y * | Y ** | Speed Skating | - | - | Y | Y | Squash/Rackets | Y | Y | Y | Y | Surfing | Y | Y | Y | Y | Swimming | Y | Y | Y | Y | Tennis | Y | Y | Y | Y | *Tobogganing (EXTRA COST) | - | - | Y * | Y ** | Trampolining | Y | - | Y | Y | Trekking - high altitude | - | - | Y | Y | Trekking - low altitude | Y | - | Y | Y | Tug-of-War | Y | - | Y | Y | Volleyball | Y | Y | Y | Y | Walking - Fell/Glacier up to 3000 metres | - | - | Y | Y | Walking - Hill | Y | - | Y | Y | War Games | Y | Y | Y | Y | Water Polo | Y | Y | Y | Y | Water Skiing | Y | Y | Y | Y | Weightlifting | - | - | Y | Y | White Water rafting/canoeing Grade 1- 4 | Y | - | Y | Y | Windsurfing | Y | Y | Y | Y | Yachting | Y | Y | Y | Y |

| Q - Can I extend the duration of my insurance, after I have commenced travelling? | | A - Yes, by paying the extra months rate shown in the premium table. However, you must make any extensions before the original term of your policy has lapsed. Cover must be continuous and we cannot backdate extensions. You must also bear in mind that if you have, for instance, an ONGOING medical claim at the time the renewal becomes due the insurers can refuse to extend or agree to extend only on condition that no further payments will be made relating to that particular claim. This is the main disadvantage of taking a shorter period at the outset and extending later as you run the risk of having continuing medical bills to pay yourself. |
| Q - Are unused periods of insurance refundable, if I return home early? | | A - No, in a nutshell. If in doubt, it is better to take a shorter period of cover and extend later, if required. |
| Q - Am I covered for motorcycling? | | A - Yes. On Gold and Diamond policies, you are covered under all sections except for Personal Liability. Your medical expenses will be covered under the Medical Expenses section. | | Q - Can I drive a car? | | A - Yes, though you will not be covered under the Personal Liability section for driving. This cover should be provided by the car owner or rental company. |
| Q - Is dental treatment covered? | | A - Yes, but only for emergency treatment to relieve pain, up to a total of £350 on Gold/Diamond policies or £200 on Budget policies. Cosmetic treatment will not be covered. |
| Q - Will my contact lenses be covered? | | A - No, spectacles are covered, but contact lenses are not. |
| Q - I am travelling on a one-way ticket. Does cover cease when I reach my destination? | | A - No, unless you are emigrating. Provided that you intend to return to your start point (anywhere in the EU), cover will continue, as long as you want, subject to the total duration limit of 18 months. |
| Q - Must I be a UK resident? | | A - Yes - These policies are only available to UK residents. | | Q - Can I pay extra to cover valuables, like a camcorder? | | A - No we cannot offer any extra cover on the baggage section. You can try to get named valuables covered on a household or all-risks policy. |
| Q - Is there a 24-hour emergency phone number? | | A - Yes, on the front of your policy document. It must be used at once if you are hospitalized, require expensive treatment or need to return home early. | | Q - I've seen policies with unlimited medical cover - the Gold policy only covers £5,000,000. | | A - Unlimited medical cover is a gimmick and £5,000,000 is more than anyone is likely to need. The largest known medical claim is less than £1,000,000. |
| Q - Who are the insurers? | | A - Gold and Diamond policies are UNDERWRITTEN AT LLOYDS OF LONDON, giving complete security and peace of mind. Budget policies are underwritten by UKU - UK Underwriting. |
| Q - Does baggage have to be stored in the boot of a car? | | A - Yes, don't leave it unattended or on view in the interior of a car. As a rule of thumb, you are expected to treat yourself and your belongings as if they were uninsured. In other words, do not take extra risks, just because you have your things insured, it may cause a problem with your claim. Please note that, even if your baggage is out of sight in the boot, there is no cover for valuables or money. In other words, never leave valuables or money unattended in a car, whether visible or not. | | Q - What are the geographical limitations on this cover? I am travelling to Australia, but are my stopovers in the Far |
